VISWA ENERGY EFFICIENCY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (VEEMS)

The Problem:

From January 1 2013, the shipping industry has to comply with the IMO regulations of the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) to reduce the carbon footprint. Ship Operators face a great challenge to sustain and remain in business while facing regulatory challenges and commercial pressure.

The Solution:

1. The first problem is the data quality. More than 90% of ships use the noon report which requires manual entry. Mistakes in the entry and subsequent poor data can compromise accurate reporting. VEEMS assures data integrity.
2. VEEMS is a flexible, cost-effective, data-driven tool to assist the ship operators in monitoring and reaching maximum energy efficiency.
3. There are two versions, the VEEMS onboard and the VEEMS Office.
4. The VEEMS On Board server captures data every 6 minutes and this data is presented in a user-friendly dashboard to the ship staff who can use it to take corrective action. VEEMS On Board helps the ship operators create reports with ease and with minimal or no manual data entry.
5. VEEMS Office allows the Shore Team to get an almost instantaneous overview of the entire fleet. VEEMS Office can allow the Shore team to determine any engine or fuel problems in any of their ships, any dry docking needs, any course correction changes and allows easy overview of reports from the entire fleet.
6. Most of the features are automated with seamless connectivity between ships and the shore management offices.
